Yard Gard: ultrasonic repeller, AC or battery powered yard and garden protector by Bird-X
A strong and versatile ultrasound generator designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the Yard Gard can repel rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, dogs, cats, skunks, deer, armadillos, opossums, rats, bats and other animals without disturbing birds or fish. Well-suited to protecting yards, gardens, patios, porches, greenhouses, garages, and building interiors, the weatherproof Yard Gard covers an area of up to 4,000 square feet and is easily mounted on a pole or flat vertical surface by means of keyhole slots at the back of the unit. The powerful (100+ decibels at 3 feet) ultrasound emitted by the Yard Gard can be adjusted to a wide range of frequencies (15,000 to 25,000 Hz) to deal with specific creatures. Powered either by 4 "C" cell batteries (not included) or by AC current, the Yard Gard comes with a 30-foot extension cord and a 110 volt AC adapter that has its own 6-foot cord. If set to operate intermittently (in either battery or AC mode) the unit will only generate ultrasound when its motion sensor detects movement within the sensor's 35 x 70 foot range. However, the unit can also be set to emit sound continuously if it is working in AC mode. Some people with good high frequency hearing can hear the unit at its low (marginally sonic) frequency settings, but this situation can be resolved by selecting higher settings. To repel rabbits dial the frequency to the indicated setting, connect the Yard Gard to an AC outlet, and set it up for constant emission. The sound waves from the Yard Gard only expand to a height of about 3 feet, and the sound goes out in a straight line, so it cannot go around objects such as trees.
